What's your role and professional background?

Have been involved with Support Coordination with NDIS since its trial period in 2013 and worked with a large spectrum of diagnosis both physical and psycho social and have special interest in Vision Impairment having worked for the Royal Society for the Blind and before that in Learning Support for Vison Impaired students with the Department of Education.

Outside of work, what are your interests?

Crazy dog lady.  Have a three year old Italian Greyhound "Frankie",  and we have regular trips to the dog park and "doggie events" (yes even Doggie birthday parties with her friends).  Mum to three daughters and currently looking forward to my first grandchild early next year.  Love travelling and have been to 33 different countries.

What do you think sets Support Collective apart in providing quality supports to our participants?

Support Collective put people over profit.  The inclusive nature of the Support Collective team and the sharing of ideas and support from colleagues means that our participants actually have 9 people supporting.  Everyone has their individual expertise and is willing to share this knowledge.  Support Collective is exactly what its name suggests - not individual coordinators but a team working together to support all our participants.

What's a fun fact about you that people might not know?

Before my life in Disabilities, I worked in Event Management and Publishing and was employed by Mills & Boon in London for 5 years - oh the stories I could tell!!

What do you find most rewarding about your work?

I love getting to know my participants - their loves, hates - their funny little quirks and personality traits.  Just letting them know that you are genuinely interested in them and want to help them navigate the complexities of NDIS.
